  • First, navigate to Settings > Photos > iCloud Photos and toggle to on, which will automatically upload and store your library to iCloud, including iCloud.com, where you can view and download photos on a computer.
  • Turn on My Photo Stream. Then, the next time your Apple devices are connected to Wi-Fi, photos taken on one gadget will show up on all the others with the same Apple ID.
  • You can also add individual photos to iCloud Drive. On iOS, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud and toggle iCloud Drive to on. Go to the Photos app, select a picture or video, tap the Send icon, and select Save to Files > iCloud Drive > Save, which will send the image to the Files app.

    • If you delete a photo file from iCloud (using your iPhone or a computer), the item will be deleted from iCloud Photos on all your devices!!!!!!!!!!!  The photo is now gone forever.  You will never see it again anywhere.
    • Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Dropbox and SmugMug have different plans (they all charge) that don’t involve deleting your cloud photos if you’ve gotten rid of them from your phone. Facebook and Instagram don’t count, as images are ground down to super low-resolution and you’ll never get the full res version back.
      • Apple will actually delete your files from its cloud 180 days after you turn off iCloud backup, so be aware of that.
    • Back up your files and photos (to multiple locations, just to be safe).
